ROAD SKILLS TEST
- The Circle City Driving Academy road skills test is intended for scholars who have
completed both, the 30-hour class AND in-car instruction. - If you have failed the road skills test, we recommend waiting two weeks before a retake.
After three failed attempts, you must wait 60 days to retake the test.
ELIGIBILITY
- By completing both the 30-hour class and in-car instruction, you are eligible for the state
road skills test. - If you did not complete your online education with Circle City Driving Academy, we
must have your completion certificate on file. - Students must be at least 15 years and 6 months old to take the test.
- All tests will be administered in a Circle City Driving Academy vehicle.
- Tests are not administered in all areas and may change without notice.
- The road skills test administered by Circle City Driving Academy will replace the test
administered at the license branch.

the 30-hour online course (classroom) and six (6) hours of in-vehicle instruction. - In addition, scholars must be at least 16 years and three (3) months (90 days).
- Unfortunately, a driving skills test cannot be on the same day as the final driving lesson.
- All scholars who take the driving skills test will be required to have a valid learner’s
permit and documentation verifying completion (State Form 55745). - Please complete the contact form to schedule your driving skills test.
- The scheduling of the road test will be arranged after payment.
- After payment is received, it may take up to 7-10 business days before the test will be
scheduled with the instructor.
PRACTICE
- Before you schedule the test with Circle City Driving Academy, do a practice test with
your student. - The parents should take the student on a 20-minute ride, only providing directions
- about where to go.
- No coaching should take place.
- The drive should include most driving tasks: roundabouts, left and right stoplight turns, merging, lane changes, stop signs, and parallel parking. Left turns on solid green lights need to be practiced, fully understood, and competency demonstrated.
- If verbal coaching, clarifying questions, and a lack of demonstration regarding how to operate a motor vehicle persist, additional practice is needed.
